Central Grey Bruce Team

Who are we?

The Central Grey Bruce Mental Health Team is one of five teams operated by Mental Health Grey Bruce. Through this partnership adult mental health services are provided in geographical regions throughout Grey and Bruce counties.

Whom do we serve?

People aged 16 years and older are eligible for services. Our main focus is to assist people with serious mental illness (i.e. schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder, depression, etc.) and their families, and people with acute mental health needs (i.e. those in crisis and/or at risk of self-harm or hospitalization). Adults with other mental health issues will be prioritized according to urgency. We also provide service to female survivors of sexual abuse and/or childhood sexual abuse.

What are the different services available from the team?

Service for adults with serious mental illness and their families 

  • Mental Health Counselling
  • Intensive Case Management
  • Outreach Community & Housing Support, including individual and group supports for independent living
  • Social/Recreational/Leisure Services
  • Psychiatry

Services for adults with acute mental health need 

  • Mental Health Counselling
  • Psychiatry
  • Intensive Short Term Outreach Treatament

Services for female survivors of sexual assault and/or childhood sexual assault

  • Post Emergency Mental Health Services
  • Psychiatry

The team can also provide consultation to health and social services agencies, information and education for the general public.

What are the hours that services are available?

The usual office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.

Is there a cost?

There are no fees for any of the support services offered by the team. Our services are funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and the Ministry of Community and Social Services.

Special Announcements
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed by Canadian Mental Health Association Grey Bruce, G & B House, and HopeGreyBruce Mental Health & Addiction Services. Grey Bruce Health Services (GBHS), which serves a large population of outpatient adult clients seeking mental health and addictions support, is also part of the MOU and will be working with the group to transition some of its services to the new agency.
At HopeGreyBruce, our goal is to provide our clients with the best possible mental health and addiction services we can with the resources we have. We rely on our clients to tell us whether or not we are meeting that goal…whether we are providing the services they need…whether we are helping them. Your opinion counts – please let us know what you think we are doing well…and also tell us where we need to make improvements.

Who should attend this series? This series of four presentations will be of interest to anyone who would like to learn more about mental illness. It will be of interest to people with a mental illness , family members, friends, neighbours, nurses, social workers, physicians, clergy, students, teachers, and other health and social service workers.
If you are a family member or friend of someone with a mental illness, these meetings may be of interest to you. Would you like to hear about the experience of other who have been there? Would you like to experience support from others who really understand? Are you wondering how other families cope with mental illness? Do you want information and resources to help you understand your role as a family member?
Would you like the opportunity to share experiences and activities with other consumer/survivors? Do you seek understanding in a safe and supportive environment? Are you interested in learning how othere individuals are coping with mental illness? Do you want more information and resources to help you better understand how to live with a mental illness?
